NHL: FreshIce Admin Tool (FIAT)

Problem

In order to make changes on the NHL website (Dot Com) - generating and uploading game ticket links, editing and removing players featured on the Player Spotlight page, and managing the site’s details such as a team’s calendar link - designated NHL employees were using a tool called Legacy CMS. Within Legacy CMS, a user can have different set permissions: League or Club. However, as you’ll see below, this tool was significantly outdated, and stakeholders were looking for a new experience.

Design Goal

FreshIce, a new database, was created and designed to give our stakeholders an updated and seamless experience when it comes to editing information on Dot Com.

FIAT 1.0, the MVP for FreshIce Admin tool, successfully deployed a month before Playoffs began, along with FIAT 1.1 and 1.2.
